and the pre-production sample as a reference, the factory will proceed with mass production. Following this, Meb Team will conduct an inspection of the completed Pre-Shipment Sample and bulk products based on the Production Details sheet to ensure alignment with the specified requirements.

How do we guarantee that your products will be manufactured
in GOOD QUALITY?

Raw Material Inspection

Initially, we selectively collaborate with raw material suppliers whose quality meets our company’s standards.

However, we still conduct inspections on each batch of raw materials and components.

Defects Manual

With 7 years of industry experience, the Meb Team has conducted inspections on over 110,000 product units. From the defects of raw materials and production process considerations to potential quality issues and packaging concerns, we have compiled a comprehensive product-related issues manual. This manual is shared with our factory’s technician, workshop management, and quality control managers. For factories, specifying the quality requirements of a product can be a somewhat ambiguous task. For instance, it may be challenging to precisely convey to workers what makes a tent perfectly crafted and meeting all requirements. However, through the problem manual’s descriptions and images, workers can visually grasp the types of issues that need to be proactively avoided or identified, and inspectors can visually know what issues are unacceptable.

AQL 2.5 Sampling Inspection

Following AQL 2.5 inspection standards, Meb Team performs sampling inspections on tents after the factory’s full inspection. At this stage, bulk production is complete, and at least 30% of packaging is finalized. We conduct a secondary inspection from package, specification to workmanship to identify packaging errors, missing packaging, product defects, and other issues, ultimately generating an inspection report. To some extent, we are more professional than The Third Party Inspectors since we know the products better. If the inspection passes, we inform the customer for shipment; if not, we promptly communicate the inspection results and proposed solutions with the customer. Fortunately, thanks to customer’s understanding and factory’s cooperation, we have not encountered a situation where an entire batch failed inspection, leading to delivery issues.

Quality Control for TENT

Tent Factory Workshop 1
  • Whole manufacture line inspection

Our in-process inspection is integrated across the entire production workflow, spanning from cutting fabrics, sewing, applying seam tape, to the final packaging.

  • Leader’s routing inspection

To maintain quality control, workshop team leaders conduct at least four daily inspections, while workshop supervisors perform at least two daily inspections. These inspections focus on assessing the quality of products on the production line, ensuring timely and effective control of any manufacturing issues or improvements on workmanship.

  • Additional inspection process

For example, in the process of production, a critical inspection step involves checking for any excess thread length in the seam tapes of our tents. If left unaddressed, these protruding threads can absorb water and expand during prolonged use, potentially leading to the detachment of the seam tape and causing water leakage. Therefore, prior to applying the seam tape, an additional step is undertaken where workers trim any excess threads at the seam tape location. This precaution ensures that during the sewing process, threads are not inadvertently pressed into the seam tape, preventing issues during subsequent use.

  • 100% Inspection

All bulk tent productions undergo a 100% inspection at the factory level. Workers would inspect base on Defects Manual and specific instruction from Meb Team.

  • Suspension (Hanging) inspection

All the inner tent will be hanging up for detailed checking. Comparing to inspect on the table, this way is more efficient and make sure there would be no small things stuck in the inner tent since all things would be drop off.

  • Pitch inspection

To manage inspection costs, it is important to honestly inform you that not all tents will be individually pitched for inspection. However, for mid- to high-end tents, orders with special or exceptionally high-quality requirements from clients, or products with new and specialized production processes leading to less proficient seamstress work, our factory conducts a 100% pitch inspection. Compared to suspension (hanging) inspections, pitch inspections simulate the actual usage scenario of tents, making it easier to identify various product issues from the consumer's perspective, such as the fitness of tent body and poles, sag or sewing wrinkles, missing accessories, fabric stains and damages, and sewing defects.

  • Why we do?

The waterproofing performance is a crucial factor in determining whether a tent can be brought to the market. Given our commitment to customer customization, the design and craftsmanship of the tent often play a significant role in its waterproof capabilities. Typically, customers may request two or three modifications to the samples we provide before placing an order. Therefore, we conduct water spray test on the pre-production sample at latest, ensuring there are no leakage issues before proceeding with mass production. If any waterproofing issues arise due to the tent's design, we propose a solution, communicate promptly with the customer, and only proceed with mass production after obtaining your approval.

  • How we do?

The water spray test is typically conducted at the factory, where the tent is set up, dry paper is placed in the tent, and a water pump is used to simulate light rain, moderate rain, and heavy rain conditions. The test lasts for 20-60 minutes, and afterward, we check whether the tent paper remains dry. This rigorous process ensures that our tents meet high waterproofing standards.

Quality Control for SLEEPING BAG

  • Coating of Down Fabric

To ensure the breathability of down, we typically avoid adding waterproof coatings to any sleeping bag fabric, which may pose the risk of matting. Therefore, for down sleeping bag fabrics, we use high-density fabrics ranging from 380T to 420T, with denser stitching. For customers with specific water repellency requirements, we can incorporate a PFC-Free Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating.

  • Downproof Test

Upon arrival of the fabric for bulk orders, we conduct an downproof test. The bulk fabric is sewn into a fixed-size bag, filled with bulk down, and subjected to shaking and tossing in a testing machine. The condition of downproof performance determines its qualification.

  • Down Testing

We conduct tests on down, assessing its Filling Power, Feather Content, Cleanliness (Transparency and Oxygen Consumption Index), and Fat Content. This ensures that the bulk down meets both customer requirements and our company standards.

  • 100% Inspection

After sewing the baffle but before filling down, a final inspection is conducted to check for fabric stains, damage, incorrect logo stitching, and accessory stitching errors. Unraveling of the stitching in down sleeping bag fabric may lead to issues, so a thorough inspection before completing the sleeping bag shell helps reduce defect rates and associated costs.

  • Setting the proper down filling weight for each channel

For down sleeping bags, the down filling weight is a crucial indicator of the temperature rating. When designing each sleeping bag, our engineers set different down filling weights for each channel based on the varying temperature requirements of different parts of the body. For example, the chest area may require more insulation.

  • Advanced down-filling machines

These machines are employed to minimize down filling errors, and reduce tolerance. Filling accuracy within ±1%.

  • Secondary Verification

The factory samples and weighs a batch of sleeping bag shells to determine the average weight. After filling with down, a second weighing is done to cross-verify the down filling weight, ensuring accuracy.

Quality Control for SLEEPING PAD

air pad factory 2

The air tightness of the fabric is a crucial indicator to ensure the sleeping pad does not leak. Upon the arrival of bulk fabric, our factory conducts a secondary inspection to guarantee the fabric’s quality.

  • TPU lamination or TPU extrusion is uniformly distributed, ensuring air tightness

  • Fabric color consistency

  • Quality of the air valve

  • Quality of the sponge material

air pad factory 4
  • 100% Inflating Inspection

For finished products, our factory conducts a 100% inflating test. The product is inflated to a fixed pressure, the air valve is closed, and it is left undisturbed for 24-48 hours. Afterward, each unit is inspected, and if there are no air leakage issues, the product is packaged. In the case of identified air leakage, the product undergoes an air tightness test in a water tank to pinpoint the leakage location, determine the cause, and assess whether the entire batch of goods poses a risk to quality.
